Economic Rumbelings
Massive tax cuts were not match with spending cuts
The U.S. economic advisors under Bush didn’t get it. Massive tax cuts are a good thing, but fat and bloat pruning in government needs to match up with the cut. So, as any fourth grader could tell you, if you spend more than you take in you have problems.
We have a huge unsustainable current accounts budget deficit that the politicians love. When the government is irresponsible printing money and giving politicians a no-leash blank check, you have serious debt payback commitments.
This irresponsible behavior seems to have been played out in Federal, State and even municipal circles.
Budget restraints and spending caps rarely make it to the ballot, so there is no way of spanking these bad boys. The taxpayer is helpless to revolt.
